Sales and Marketing

Product Marketing Manager (Massachusetts or Vermont)

CN is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to lead technical marketing, market research, and product management.  Responsibilities in technical marketing include creating and maintaining sales and marketing tools for software products and engineering design services, creating software product demonstrations using various multi-media tools, training field sales and channel partners on products and messaging, and, in close coordination with the Marketing Programs Manager, innovating and launching successful marketing campaigns.  Market Research responsibilities will include gathering data through various sources, researching industry and customer needs, interacting with customers to gather feedback and requirements, and analyzing competitive products.  Product Management responsibilities include assisting in product development for future software products, representing the customer's voice, developing product pricing and packaging based on market research, and conducting successful launches of new products and releases.  A minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is expected, along with 5-8 years of engineering experience in the area of turbomachinery design and development is a strong plus.  Experience using CAE tools to design turbomachinery is important along with the ability to create multimedia presentations using various tools such as Camtasia Studio and MS PowerPoint.  Excellent communication and presentation skills are extremely important along with the ability to work both independently and as a team member.  The ideal candidate will have a strong technical base with a flair and desire for marketing to best present CN services to our customers.  This is the perfect job for a hands-on engineer who would like to seek a broader offering of career opportunities.

Operations

Advanced Manufacturing Engineer — 5-Axis Machining (Vermont)

This individual works directly with Project Managers, manufacturing personnel, purchasing, and suppliers in a cross-functional environment, to produce custom 5-Axis machine products for the turbomachinery industry in an ISO 9001/2000 environment.  Supervising CNC programmers and manufacturing engineers, he/she is accountable for providing non-stop continuous improvement utilizing the latest technologies and proprietary CN CAM software to meet target goals for quality, cost, and delivery.  An in-depth understanding of machining of stainless steels, titanium, and nickel-based alloys is essential.  Knowledge of inspection methods and use of inspection tools and equipment is highly desirable.  Initiate design for Manufacturing (DFMA) is required on new design projects and provide machining and development standards for RFQ's and manufacturing scheduling.  Planning and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.  A background in machine tool technology (5-Axis preferred), cutting tools, CAD/CAM, and material science is required.  The ability to understand engineering drawings, GD&T, along with knowledge of 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks, Pro/E), and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems are important. A B.S. in mechanical engineering is preferred plus 10+ plus years manufacturing engineering experience in a similar CNC fabrication project-oriented environment including familiarity with turbomachinery and/or aerospace components.  Excellent communication, teamwork, a strong work ethic and desire to succeed, and interpersonal skills are required.

Programmer/Set-Up Machinist (Vermont)

This individual schedules work assignments, sets up machines, runs and verifies parts, documents equipment changes, and maintains a safe and healthy work environment.  Must be able to interpret prints and drawings, program and set up 5-Axis CNC milling centers and CNC Lathes/VTL's, use measuring tools, calculate cutting speeds/feeds, and adjust cutting tools.  CN's facility is a low volume production/prototype environment suited to individuals with solid machining and manufacturing knowledge and the ability to change direction and jobs quickly.  A high school or trade school education is required with 10-15 years minimum hands-on CNC machining experience.  Strong math skills are important and some programming experience is required.  CN will train new staff in the company's software and processes.  Excellent communication, teamwork, a strong work ethic and desire to succeed, and interpersonal skills are required.

Quality Control Inspection Manager/CMM Specialist (Vermont)

This individual is responsible for developing and maintaining QC systems which ensure that products and services are designed and produced to meet internal and external customer requirements and expectations.  Provides leadership and support of the product and process quality for precision complex machined parts and assemblies in a prototype and production environment is required.  Duties include hands-on knowledge, leadership and support in inspection, corrective and preventative action initiation and implementation, defect data and root cause analysis, quality data collection and reporting, material control, and support of cross-functional teams with QA, Manufacturing, and Engineering.  A strong, thorough knowledge of quality improvement tools is expected, along with statistical methods (including sampling), quality system development, maintenance, and auditing (ISO9000-2000), 3D surface and solid modeling and CAD tools, and expert knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operations and tools.  A BS degree or equivalent experience with seven plus years of quality control and CMM experience in measuring complex machined parts and assemblies.  CQE, ASQ is a plus.  MS Office fluency is required and knowledge of Visual Manufacturing and Quality is a plus.

Technician

Mechanical Technician (Vermont)

We are seeking Mechanical Technician in our products area.  A Mechanical Technician is responsible for mechanical and/or electrical assembly and testing of materials, devices, and products as well as test fixturing and general test equipment maintenance.  Other duties include complying with quality systems (ISO) procedures as required and performing general department maintenance as needed.  An A&P license or AD or equivalent experience (3-7 years) in a manufacturing/products environment is required.  The ability to interpret prints/drawings is important along with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Engineering

Director, Large Projects (Vermont)

We are seeking an experienced turbomachinery engineer to manage our ‘Large Project’ group, overseeing project managers (PMs) on several of our large projects, and running a few projects individually.  Responsibilities include the satisfaction of project technical and contractual requirements, including cost and schedule.  The PMs in this group coordinate activities of company personnel (utilizing company resource management tools) and appropriate outside resources as required, coordinate customer communication, and ensure proper documentation (including ISO requirements) for projects under the PM’s responsibility.  These PMs typically also serve as mechanical design engineers on their projects.  Other duties include supporting company sales activities in the large project area.  A minimum of a BS or MS ME, along with 10+ years of active engineering experience and program management experience is required.  Candidates must have “hands-on” turbomachinery experience in the aerodynamic or mechanical design area.  Other desired experience includes manufacturing, test and/or field service experience, clear, concise written and oral communication skills (English), and competency with MS family of business software products. Limited travel is expected.  Must be a U.S. citizen. 

Senior CAD Designer (Vermont or Massachusetts)

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, self-directed and results-oriented ProE Design Engineer/Designer to work with turbomachinery products.  This person develops moderately complex parametric components, assemblies, drawings, layouts, tolerance analysis and specifications per ASME standards with a good understanding of the design intent and manufacturing process.  An ideal candidate will have experience with turbomachinery mechanical design (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc...), handle assignments with minimum guidance, and work successfully in a team environment.  Check intricate, finished drawings and assemblies, direct the efforts and mentor design and drafting personnel in all aspects of documentation.  Plan, maintain, and perform to schedules for assigned projects.  A BS, ME with 15+ years of experience with five years of rotating equipment ProE and machine design preferred.  Alternately, an Associates' degree with 25+ years of experience, including five years rotating equipment, ProE and machine design.  Proficiency with ProEngineer Wildfire 3.0 and Intralink 8.0 and MS Office tools required.

Senior Level Aerodynamics/Hydrodynamics Engineer (Vermont)

We are seeking a senior level turbomachinery engineer, with a focus in the aerodynamic / hydrodynamic design and analysis areas. Responsibilities include aero/hydro design and analysis of compressors, pumps, turbines (including steam turbines), and stationary turbomachinery components. Experience with both axial and radial turbomachinery is very beneficial. Turbomachinery experience should include meanline design, three-dimensional flow path and blading design, and CFD analysis using modern design tools. Project management experience is critical. One of the available positions specifically calls for in-depth turbine design/analysis experience. Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills are very important. A minimum BS ME, and 10-15 years in aerodynamic/hydrodynamic design and analysis after the degree was earned is expected.

Structural/Rotordynamics Engineer (Vermont)

Seeking an experienced, full-time engineer/experimentalist with training and experience in rotordynamics, structural design and analysis, and structural laboratory testing.  This person will be responsible for operating and further developing an advanced rotordynamics test facility developed in coordination with NASA for obtaining unique turbomachinery and rocket turbopump rotordynamic and stability measurements.  Responsibilities also include stress and natural frequency analysis of stationary and rotating hardware, rotordynamic analysis of complex shafting systems, and layout/design/analysis of shafts, bearings and seals for turbomachinery applications.  Experience with ANSYS is desirable.  Secondary responsibilities include some project management, and direction of junior engineers and CAD designers.  Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.  This position requires an earned degree in engineering (MS, Ph.D.) and at least five years experience in laboratory testing, rotordynamics, and structural analysis. 

Software Development

CAM Software Engineers (Massachusetts or Vermont)

We are seeking two experienced CAM software engineers for CAM software development, specifically for the MAX-PAC software system, in support of the company's machining business operation and for clients around the world.  The position requires working in C++ to develop specialized CAM software which generates complex milling tool parts.  The job also requires in-depth understanding of geometric modeling and related algorithms.  Experience with CAD 3D geometry kernel programming and/or programming in Computer Aided Manufacturing is required.  Requirements are 5-7 years of programming experience in CAM and/or related geometric modeling is desired.  A BS in Engineering or Computer Science is required.
